Mr. Heide is an engineer intern with Atkinson-Noland & Associates in Boulder, Colorado, a consulting firm specializing in evaluation and repair of masonry materials and structures. Joining the firm in 2024, his current work includes nondestructive evaluation of modern and historic structures, condition assessment of structures, laboratory testing, and masonry repair and strengthening. Mr. Heide brings a strong knowledge of structural analysis and design to the ANA team.
Mr. Heide received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. His master’s thesis was on the influence of concrete masonry unit geometry on the structural behavior of masonry walls subject to out-of-plane loading. This research involved a large-scale experimental investigation. Mr. Heide was awarded the Gunnar Hagblom Scholarship from the Saskatchewan Masonry Institute for his research in structural masonry.
