Ms. Maddox is an engineer with Atkinson-Noland & Associates in New York, New York, a consulting firm specializing in evaluation and repair of masonry materials and structures. Joining the firm in 2015, her current work includes nondestructive evaluation of modern and historic structures, condition assessment of buildings, masonry repair and strengthening, and construction administration.
Ms. Maddox earned a Bachelor of Architecture Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas before coming to New York to complete a Master of Science in Historic Preservation at Columbia University. She brings more than nine years of professional experience working on and leading a variety of new design and preservation projects throughout the Greater New York City area as an engineer with Silman Associates and Murray Engineering, PC. During 2012/2013, she was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to study structural engineering of historic monuments in Europe and complete research on nondestructive evaluation of historic wood with the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in Prague, Czech Republic.
Ms. Maddox has an active history in leadership within the preservation community, having served on two Alumni Boards with Columbia University and she is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York and The Association for Preservation Technology International.
